Mstislav Rostropovich dies

Excellent obit from the NY Times on Rostropovich. It appears he was music director of the NSO when I was growing up and going to the symphony. I'll have to ask my dad if we ever saw him in the 70's/80's. It seems I'm overdue to go through his recordings on CD - I feel I've missed some great performances.
